Dean Donaldson’s Summary
I originally trained as a traditional graphic designer in Australia in the late ‘80s. Worked in a variety of design roles across the UK and by the mid 90’s moved into the New Media arena. Set up and ran a creative agency and alongside a series of multi-media projects, began working closely with local government shaping e-communications culminating in facilitating a local community site and related cyber centre. Ran the creative division of a leading ISP, focusing on online marketing and information architecture for leading brand sites, as well as internal communication strategies. Following the dot.com crash decided to move into a more client focused and strategic role within e-marketing, and more specifically advertising technology with an edge on video. This has led to working with some great minds in the industry and together have been short listed for NMA Digital Advertising Award 2003, Campaign Digital Advertising Award 2005 and 2 nominations in Revolution Digital Advertising Award 2007.
Currently doing an MA in Creative Media Practice - the future of digital advertising - navigating my way through the maze of emerging media to ensure commercialisation of content across a fragmented range of viewing devices, as well as addressing concerns over user profiling.
