Jon Embury’s Summary

I have over ten years’ experience in the IT industry specialising in component based software development. I am experienced in .NET development in C#, using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003 / 2005 / 2008, Object Oriented analysis and methodology and have experience in Microsoft Oriented Framework Architecture.

I have extensive technical knowledge of many development frameworks and a number of products, both commercial and open-source. One of my greatest strengths is my ability to quickly learn a new technology or development frameworks and begin using it to solve problems in complex development projects. I am experienced in a wide range of systems support and development roles, both as an individual and as a member of small and large teams. I have also used my technical expertise and commercial experience to successfully mentor other team members.

I am an active member of Object Consulting’s Microsoft .NET Practice group, I work with other Practice member to ensure projects are developed using industry best practices and that appropriate technologies are being applied to solve business needs. I also have experience and interest in Agile development practices and I am the leader of the Object Consulting Agile Practice Group.

I have also delivered several different training courses including ‘Introduction to Programming with C#’, ‘Programming the Microsoft .NET framework with C#’ and ‘Introduction to Agile Development’, leveraging my communication skills and in-depth knowledge of the software development lifecycle, Microsoft .NET Framework and C#.

I graduated from Australian National University (ANU) with a Bachelor degree in Science majoring in Computer Science. In addition to my degree, I am a Microsoft Certified Solution Developer in .NET and Visual Basic 6.0.
