Julian Gómez’s Summary
My biggest strength is being able to understand a problem and construct an integrated solution, with an eye on the future so that today's solution fits with tomorrow's technology. I was one of the first people to treat 3D computer graphics as an information application, as opposed to a domain specific activity, and have been working in that area for over ten years. In that time I've covered information systems architecture including web based solutions, CAD/PLM/KM, and standards development/compliance. Before that I worked on APIs, and for a long time before that on computer animation; my dissertation generalized the science for how computer animation was done at the time. My career has been split about equally between the research and commercial sectors. I think this century is about information and knowledge, and my broad range of experience gives me a unique perspective on meeting the coming challenges.
