Kevin Darty’s Summary
My professional career has spanned from Customer Support to Lead Development to Systems Architect and always "head peon". I have worked in the following technologies: C#, ASP.NET, Classic ASP, HTML and DHTML, XML and XSLT, JavaScript, COM+/MTS, Visual Basic, SQL Server with T-SQL, Oracle with PL-SQL and Graphics Design using Adobe Photoshop and ImageReady, Adobe Illustrator and the great OpenSource Graphics Design tool Paint.NET.
My personal goal is to design Service Oriented applications utilizing Single Sign-on Security with open based Security Systems like OpenID. I want to work more with.NET 3.0 Technologies, specifically Workflow and I would like to do more Cross-platform programming leveraging the OpenSource .NET Alternative "Mono".
I am always messing around with Linux and hope to some day move into a Mac. I would love to do either professional or personal software development for those platforms and of course, cross-platform development. Viva Mono!
Kevin Darty’s Specialties:
I have great people skills and work great in roles where I interact with other teams and clients in a supporting role. As a musician and a lover of the arts, I look at Computer Programming in a different way and I believe that my vast experience in N-tier development utilizing Web 2.0 Technologies and Transactional Communication Frameworks and excellent trouble-shooting skills help me to deliver what my clients expect with the knowledge that I have the skills and knowhow to take care of them.

University of Central Florida
BS, Computer Science and MIS, 1995 — 1997
I started out at the University of Central Florida as a Computer Science Major while I was also working full-time as a Computer Programmer. I learned pretty fast that Universities in general were not a good place to learn "real world" Computer Programming. I switched over to MIS which gave me a well rounded view of the business world focusing on Business, Management and the all important thing for any business, getting the job done. Computer Science really didn't provide the skills needed for actually getting the job done while MIS focussed on Rapid Application Tools for developing Business Software. If you look at the dates for my stint at UCF, BCC and UAH you will think I spent way too much time in College only to have a Bachelors degree but in that time I was working full-time and experimenting between my love with music and computers. A long time yes, but I think that helped ensure that I was well rounded and ready for the business world.
