Alexander Dunlop’s Summary
My profession is a prophet, teacher, shaman, priest, and healer.
My profession has followed from my intention to know the living pulse of Life. Since age 17, when I was first unexpectedly flooded (in a mystical experience) by the energy of Life, my whole life has been a journey to understand the voice of Life. So, I dove into the Christian world was trained as an Evangelical Minister.
At Harvard, I studied social philosophy. I wrote my senior thesis, still available in the Harvard Library system, on gang members in Boston who had converted to Christianity. My first job out of college was as a researcher on a project with Prison Fellowship to help design a youth intervention program for "at risk" teenagers.
I worked as a Union Laborer erecting scaffolding on skyscrapers. I was trained as a Roman Catholic Priest and have a master's degree in Catholic Theology. I moved to New York, and with no prior background in computers, got a job as an IT consultant. I was staffed at Morgan Stanley, working on "Wall Street." I excelled and was promoted to manager within 18 months of joining the firm. Our firm was bought by a software company, where I advanced to work as a Director of Marketing.
My next Life work was to travel to India for 6 months, where I lived in Ashrams meditating for sometimes 8 hours a day. When I returned, my next jobs were as bartender and temp office assistant. I took these jobs because I wanted to finish writing my book, which was published in 2007. I undertook a 2 year training and apprenticeship with a Shaman in the Native American Lakota tradition.
Together with my wife Arul, who I met on a five-day fasting intensive, we opened SanaVita as a center for holistic cleansing and whole healing.
