Lou D'Alessandro’s Summary
I am entering my 28th year in Information Technology that has afforded me a variety of roles and responsibilities. The roles included roles at vendors to roles at client/end-users. Job responsibilities included head of engineering and software development to Line of Business General Manager and head of Professional Services organization. The majority of my industry experience has been in the financial services sector covering banking, brokerage and insurance. All projects and have been enterprise class, mission critical, transaction processing systems, and all have been variations of Unix/J2EE/RDBMS.
Management responsibility includes solution and project delivery, technical staff management (including geographically distributed and offshore staff), full life cycle software development (Agile and waterfall) including QA and production deployment and P&L responsibility for consulting services projects.
My hallmark as a “people person” is my ability to organize, align and motivate teams of people including staff, clients and partners to focus on the objective at hand and to achieve a successful outcome. My experience has shown that the critical skill for successful leadership is clear, concise and unambiguous communications without which you create misalignment and confusing expectations. Beyond the fundamentals of communications, process and planning are key drivers for success along with respectful and professional behavior in dealing with colleagues and clients which yield the most consistent and successful accomplishments.
I will summarize by saying that I love what I do. There is a tremendous sense of accomplishment and satisfaction upon successful delivery and deployment of a complex solution. My belief is that there is no accomplishment in a deliverable unless it is operating in production and delivering value to the business.
Thank you for taking the time to review my summary.
