Marten de Jong started his professionnal career at the Dutch-German Chamber of Commerce in The Hague where he advised German companies during their market entry in The Netherlands.
After 4 years De Jong went on as an entrepreneur. He founded Marketing Assist Nederland. During 2 years he advised German companies on logistic topics and offered together with TNT Post cost reduction programmes voor German mailingcompanies. Due to changes in European legislation MAN was dismantled in 1998.
At that moment, de Jong was still in his twenties, it was time to pursue the goal he set for himself when he was 10 years old. Work as a radio-reporter with focus on sports. He managed to get a job at Radio West and commented in the following years on football, cricket and darts on several continents. Altough his love for radio and sports stayed, De Jong felt uncomfortable in a non-profit environment and decided to leave Radio West in 2004.
He went back to that old passion; Dutch German commercial relationships. He started as Sales manager at DPW te Paske in Aalten, a leading woodprocessing company with focus on the door-industry. He expanded his portfolio to Eastern Europe the Balltic States and Russia, followed courses in Minneapolis, Sweden and Finland and passed his Exam at the academy in Almere cum laude.
