Most recent (past 11 years) I have held International business development roles, which involves the commercialisation of software technology and products. I will generally look at what the underlying IP capability is then adapt that to product concepts which can be marketed and sold worldwide, whilst always keeping in mind “how will this attract mass market appeal”.
Whilst currently at and during my tenor at Barefoot, my role included the development of the long term strategy, and the products required to exploit the "Mobile Publishing" IP that Barefoot had developed over the past 5 years which has solved the problem of "Publishing Content to Mobile Devices". The core IP was then stripped and used to develop mass market consumer downloads which is now being achieved and in the market place in India, Singapore, Malaysia, US, and soon to be Europe.
Specializing in Mobile Publishing, Barefoots products are designed to enable simple, rapid & affordable publishing for Magazine, Newspaper, Corporate Documentation, Catalogues & Brochures, eBooks (Text and/or Image and Text), comics, and of course provisions for the Glamour and Celebrity market.
Recent milestones include pre-installing Barefoot products on Nokia phones in China and Taiwan in partnership with leading publishers such as Vogue, GQ and China Financial Times and over 80 other publications. Other partnerships are in now place in key Asia Pacific countries which include leading global publishing brands.
Previous work experience included developing systems to stream line and make daily tasks within a growing company scalable without the need for additional staff which included, a Fund Management account and management system. I was also involved in the development of computer aided trading systems for managing Foreign Exchange and Futures contracts, which under the fund were getting returns in excess of 100% p.a. with a monthly trading turnover of US$2 Billion.
