Mitch Beck’s Summary

In addition to my extensive technical background in Bi-polar and CMOS high/low power and high speed design, I have held various management roles and responsibilities.
My management experience includes managing a team of two or three direct reports, proof of concept initiative teams, product development, and program managing multiple product development efforts in parallel. The latter consisting of as many as 20 engineers, technicians, and mask designers. These projects also included managing 3rd party contract designers as well as a 3rd party design company under contract with my current employer.
An example of a proof of concept initiative was my leading the USB 2.0 transceiver development. On this project I did both technical “hands-on” design as well as managing the development team. Product development management included managing a team that designed an LVDS driver for communications between a graphics chip and flat panel display. This product is currently in the marketplace.
Parallel program management projects include the design of several data converters as well as a filter implementation that was done by a local contracted company. This involved managing the needs of the customer and the progress and status of an external contractor, assuring that they met their contractual responsibilities.
I have managed a group responsible for the design of several special analog circuits for a Digital Base Band chip for 3G cell phones. This involved scheduling and managing the engineering team, mask designers, 3rd party contractor, negotiating specifications, and design requirements with an internal customer. Customers for this product were cross divisional and included representatives from several sites in the US as well as Israel.
.
My current interest is in managing a technical team and applying my expertise to add value to the organization.
